Chevrolet Corvette Announced as Indy Pace Car

The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport has been announced as the official pace car of the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500. 2017 will be the 14th year in a row that the Indy pace car has been a Chevrolet. No other car has held this honor more often than the Corvette, at 13 times since its first appearance in 1978. “Chevrolet is proud to once again pace the Indianapolis 500,” said Steve Majoros, marketing director for Cars and Crossovers. “The Corvette Grand Sport’s performance capability and motorsports heritage make it the perfect choice to pace the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Keep an eye out for the Corvette pace car during the big race over Memorial Day weekend and cheer on Chevrolet as they pursue their sixth consecutive IndyCar manufacturer championship.
